The Beach Orchid (unit 208 at the Oceans 7 Orchid complex) is a two-bedroom, two-bath condo unit that sleeps 5 comfortably in the bedrooms (no one has to sleep in the living room unless they want to!). This unit is on the west end of the complex, just 5 steps to the complex's huge deck with spectacular sunset views and peek-a-boo ocean views. While there is no ocean view directly from the unit, the price compared to ocean-view units in the complex is more affordable. It is also one of the largest 2-bedroom units in the complex.
Located on E. Orchid Road between Ocean Ave the beach, there is no road to cross to get to the Crest’s FREE beach (staffed by professional lifeguards in season for peace of mind). Sunrise Park—with its large grassy areas, splash park, exercise area, and bike rental—is one short block to the north. The bike path that starts in the park lets cyclists, walkers, and runners go from the Crest all the way to North Wildwood without having to cross a street! Centennial Park and its free concerts (in season) is 4 blocks away, and Sunset Park is an easy 10-minute stroll to the west.
The Oceans 7 Orchid complex building was essentially new construction in 2022 and features amenities including:
• An oversize (25x50) heated pool with separate kiddie pool
• Spacious fenced pool area with travertine pavers, lounge chairs, umbrellas
• Private beach entrance with sand rinse
• Large grill patio with three Weber grills and tables/chairs
• Coin-op laundry rooms on 2 floors
• Elevator
• Assigned parking (one space)
• Large elevated deck area—steps from the unit—with Adirondack chairs, loungers, and dining tables perfect for viewing the ocean, taking in the sunset, or watching for the arrival of Monster Cone.
The split-floorplan, 735sf unit features tile floors throughout (no carpeting), central air and heat, an open kitchen-dining-living space flanked by the two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen bed, TV, recliner, and a spacious en suite bathroom with a large, tiled shower.
The second bedroom is outfitted with a twin bed plus a bunk bed. But not just any bunk: the top bunk is accessed via steps (not a ladder) for extra safety, while the bottom bed is a floor-level bunk that transforms into a playhouse with the removeable curtain. Blankets and pillows are provided. Tenants are responsible for bringing their own bed linens and towels (contacts for local linen rental companies available upon request).
Across from the bunk room is the second large bathroom with a tub/shower combo. In between is an alcove outfitted with a desk and power outlets, perfect for a laptop or to serve as a charging station for all those electronics.
The modern, fully equipped kitchen has plenty of cabinet and counter space, full-size stainless appliances, cookware, glassware, etc., along with a Keurig coffee maker, blender, toaster.
The living/dining area has a table that seats 5, a large sectional, a recliner, TV with Xfinity cable service. The unit also has its own high-speed WiFi Internet that is not shared with any other units.
Done with the beach and pool? There’s plenty else to do. Take the trolley or make the short drive to the famous Wildwood boardwalk, which is just a couple miles north of the complex. A short drive to the south is historic Cape May with its landmark lighthouse, classic Victorian homes, excellent restaurants, quaint downtown shopping area, and world-class birdwatching area (a National Wildlife Refuge site). Whale-watching and dolphin-watching tours depart daily (in season) from the bay side in both Wildwood Crest and Cape May. Or head to one of the many jet-ski rentals and kayak tour outfitters to get up-close and personal with the water that surrounds the Crest. Golf is also a short drive away, not to mention dozens of mini-golf courses for the kids. Cloudy day? Head to the Cape May County Zoo just 10 miles north.

The unit was great, clean, accommodating, everything worked as it should. Being right next to the beach was awesome. Only complaint was neighbors tv was too loud every night till 1:00 am. Would have liked some way to contact a manager to intervene, banged on the wall one night, hard place to be in as you never know what type of people you could be confronting. The unit itself was perfect, the process to rent was easy.
